— LINED WITH SILVER ~ a creative studio by neda noorë
Every piece is made with the same quiet thread running through it.
Mixed media, upcycled clothing, hand-built clay, watercolor ~ different materials, one magical creative practice.
— HANDS BEHIND THE THREAD
"I don't rush a piece. I listen for what it wants to become.
Right now I’m spending most of my time with clay and slow hand-stitching ~ letting each piece take the time it actually needs, instead of the time a deadline would give it.”
Neda Noorë is a Los Angeles–based Kurdish Jewish artist exploring grief, ancestry, and the space between self-acceptance and reinvention.
Her practice began as a refuge, and became a devotion.
— WHERE IT STARTED
To Spark Wonder
a space to create again and again
Before the thread had a name, it had a book. To Spark Wonder is a starting point for anyone’s creative journey ~ self-published, and still the truest short version of everything I make now.
— THE WORK, CURRENTLY
Mixed Media
Layers, texture, found materials ~ built without a fixed end point in mind.
Upcycled clothing
Giving a garment a second life ~ a small, tactile resurrection.
Hand-built clay
Shaped slowly by hand, then handed over to fire.
Watercolor
Pigment and water finding their own edges.
— THE WAY OF WORKING
Softly
No forcing a piece into a shape it isn’t ready for.
Gently
Space to breathe is part of the process.
Curiously
Following what wants to happen next.
Slowly
Listening long enough to hear what’s asked for.
If something here speaks to you, I'd love to hear from you.
I read every note myself, and I don’t respond same-day ~ every inquiry gets sat with before I reply, usually within a few days.
